RIP Dad,
You were such a good father to all of us. I have so many amazing memories of my childhood. I know I wasn’t around as much as I wanted to be, but after I lost Mike Jr. I also lost a part of myself. I take great comfort in knowing you are both together now. Take care of each other. Love you dad, it’s not goodbye but I will see you later.
All my love Cathy

Over the past nine years, I enjoyed many conversations with Bill, as he regaled in memories from the track. I will truly miss hearing those stories, and I will be sure to let Sloane know about your fondness for the horses. You Bill were a champion, rewarded with a large loving family and a long life. Rest In Peace, you will always be in our hearts.

Grampa AKA”Bad Billy” Ella has said her prayers and hopes your up there taking care of Stitch... I promise I won’t let her terrorize KitCat. You were such a huge part of our lives. As a child we spent every Christmas Eve at your house and it was always our lucky day if you were able to take Natalie and I out in the tractor at Woodbine. Your love of horses has been passed down to Ella. Your stories will always be remembered.
No one can every prepare themselves for this day and we want you to know that we all have so many great, hilarious and cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
All our love ❤️
Julie, Wayne, Taylen, Nathan and Ella

Grandpa, the boys and I miss you so much already. Family gatherings just won’t be the same without you. I remember we would all sit at the table listening to your funny stories about the races. I’m so thankful you were able to meet your great-grandchildren. Spending time with you was so special to Dylan, even when it was something as simple as watching tv in your chair or sitting outside by the fire with you. You’ve given us all so many memories that will live on with us for years to come and we know you’ll always be there watching over our family.
We love you so much Grandpa,
Melanie, Taylor and Dylan

I fondly remember going to Italy with grandpa. He complained that the food was too "foreign", and made us take him to an English pub. He complained that it wasn't English food. He complained about everything except for the desserts. He ordered a Geltao, and got the biggest cone I have ever seen, and the look on his face was priceless! He had the biggest smile and looked like a kid on Christmas morning! I have so many good memories of that trip and I'm happy to have experienced them with him.

My Grandfather truly had a green thumb and we shared a love of plants. I knew that when I brought him orchids, he would get them to flower for years to come. He kept a shamrock plant going for more than 15 years, and could grow violets and geraniums from only a leaf. I am so happy that we shared this love of gardening, and I will remember all of the tips you had for keeping plants thriving. I love you Grandpa, and will miss you so much.❤

Dad - Even though it was your time to leave us, we will miss you so much. Thank you for raising 5 children as a single father. I have so many memories of going to the beach every weekend in the summer and to the movies in the winter, skating on the pond and playing baseball in the backyard. My most recent memories are 2 summers at the cottage in Port Elgin and sitting in the backyard by the fire most evenings and having dinner together every night for the past year and hearing stories about what happened at the seniors day every Friday.
My heart is sad that COVID-19 has postponed your Celebration of Life - but we will definitely have it as soon as it is safe to do so.
I found this poem and feel it is a good tribute to you so I thought I would share it
You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that
he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left
Your heart can be empty because
you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow
and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday
You can remember him only that he is
gone,
or you can cherish his memory and
let it live on
You can cry and close your mind
be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Dianne, Debbie, Julie and families - please accept our most sincere sympathies and condolences on the loss of a beloved father, father-in-law, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
I know it isn't easy saying goodbye to someone so special to all of you but I hope that you can rely on all of the wonderful stories, memories, pictures and condolences to help to ease some of your sorrow and heartache.
90 years is an incredible milestone to have achieved and I can imagine a life very well lived. Dianne one of the best honours we can give to our parents is to be there for them when they needed us the most. I will never regret that time spent with both of my parents in their final months and years - its time that can never be got back and time where you made so many more memories together. Although he is gone from this earth he will always live on in your hearts and in your memories.
Thinking of you all at this most difficult time.

Put a candle in the window
'Cause I feel I've got to move
Though I'm going, going
I'll be coming home soon
Long as I can see the light
Pack my bag and let's get moving
'Cause I'm bound to drift a while
Though I'm gone, gone
You don't have to worry, no
Long as I can see the light
Guess I've got that old traveling bone
'Cause this feeling won't leave me alone
But I won't, won't
Be losing my way, no, no
Long as I can see the light
Put a candle in the window
'Cause I feel I've got to move
Though I'm going, going
I'll be coming home soon
Long as I can see the light

To my dad,
We are not a family that openly express our feelings, not huggers or kissers like some families. I know I speak for my brother and sisters when I say, as I'm certain you knew. We loved you with all our hearts. You will be missed more than you could ever imagine.
RIP Dad

This is my favorite picture if Bill and Dan. Bill came to our house and Dan took him out on the Harley. Bill was nervous but when they came home, he had loved the ride. Every time he came to our house he wanted a ride. Love you Bill, miss you.
