Obituary of Shirley Gowland
Shirley Anne Gowland (née Giffen) (Leslie), formerly of Teeswater and Belmore, passed away at Braemar Retirement Centre, Wingham on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of the late Donald Gowland (2007).
Loving mother of Dwight (Diane) Leslie of Teeswater and Kim (Gord) Harris of R. R. #1 Clifford and step-mother of David (Vangie) Gowland and their family of California.
Sadly missed by 4 grandchildren, Jamie (Justine) Leslie, Lance (Cherielyn) Leslie all of South Bruce, Matthew (Caitlin) Harris of Victoria, B.C., Bret (Chantel) Harris of Bervie and 4 great-grandchildren, Jayla, Westen, Nash and Kip.
Fondly remembered by members of the Giffen, Leslie and Gowland families, along with many former neighbours, community members and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, John “Jack” and Mary “Debbie” (née Dean) Giffen and brother Dean Giffen.
A funeral service to honour Shirley’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Teeswater on Monday, April 10th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Serena Evans and Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating.
Interment Culross-Teeswater Cemetery.
Reception to follow at the Belmore Community Centre.
Memorial donations to the Teeswater Medical Centre (cheques payable to the Municipality of South Bruce) or Belmore Community Centre (cheques payable to the Township of Howick) would be appreciated as an expression of sympathy.
