Obituary of Alice Mawhinney
Alice Darling Mawhinney (née Dickson) of Carrick Township, passed away, at Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, January 31st, 2022, at the age of 88.
Beloved wife of the late Ivan Mawhinney (2019) for 62 years.
Dear mother of Dave and Karen Mawhinney, Jim and Doreen Mawhinney, Marlene Mawhinney and Murray and Jane Mawhinney all of Carrick Township.
Missed by her grandchildren, Kelsey, Chantelle and Brent, Mike and Crista, Melissa and Joe, Nathan and Tiffany, Anna and Wyatt and Lauren and Brayden and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Allison, Ivan and Adalynn.
Fondly remembered by sister Jean Field of Clifford, sister-in-law Deanne Dickson of Mildmay, brother-in-law Ron Mawhinney of Hanover, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, James and Annabel (née Darling) Dickson, infant daughter Sharon and siblings George Dickson, Ken Dickson (Mildred), John Dickson (Florence), Stella Douglas (John) and Ralph Dickson, brother-in-law Russell Field and sister-in-law Monique Mawhinney.
Visitation will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend the visitation must RSVP using the links found below or by calling the funeral home (519-392-6011). All attendees must wear a mask and respect physical distancing protocols.
A private funeral service to honour Alice’s life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 4th, 2022, with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating.

Spring Interment McIntosh Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Belmore Community Centre (cheques payable to the Township of Howick) or Saugeen Hospice Inc. would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
