Obituary of Dorothy Voisin

Helen “Dorothy” Voisin (née Hoffele) of Walkerton and formerly of Formosa, where she lived for over 60 years, passed away peacefully at Brucelea Haven, on Friday, January 15th, 2021, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Gerard Voisin (2018). Devoted mother to her 12 children, Linda Schumacker, Clayton Voisin (Rita), Elaine Schumacher (Dave), Mervin Voisin (Marlene), Dennis Voisin (Valerie), Gary Voisin (Karen), Michael Voisin (Simone), George Voisin (Brenda), David Voisin (LeaAnne), Marlene Ribbink (Allan), Glenn Voisin (Rosemary) and Sandra Voisin. Loving grandmother of 30 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by her brother Jim Hoffele, brothers-in-law, Edward Voisin (Maryanne) and Richard Voisin (Sheila), sister-in-law Marie Voisin and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Natalie (née Siedle) Hoffele, infant daughter Phillis, son-in-law Ken Schumacker, brother Clayt Hoffele, father and mother-in-law, George and Tille (née Meyer) Voisin, brothers-in-law Wilfred Voisin (Verena) and Clarence Voisin and sisters-in-law Marjorie Voisin, Mildred Wilson (Paul) and Lorraine Simpson (Jim). Dorothy was a member of the Formosa Lions Club for 23 years and a long-time member of the Formosa Catholic Women’s League. Dorothy will be most fondly remembered for her love of family, baking, gardening and animals. She loved to play card games, Bingo and country-western music. Due to provincial restrictions, private family services will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater, with Father Michael Anderson officiating. Spring interment Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery, Formosa. Memorial donations to the Residential Hospice of Grey-Bruce (Southern Bruce Site) or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and be arranged on-line or through the funeral home.
