Obituary of Robert "Bob" Bregman
Robert A. (Bob) Bregman, 89 years old, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on September 20, 2020.
Bob was recently a resident at Brookside Retirement Living in Watford and formerly of Teeswater.
Bob is predeceased by his son Keith, and is survived by his wife, Agnes; children, Robert (Sharon), Joanne (Harvey) and Christine (Vince); grandchildren, Phillip (Kristel), Amanda (Ben), Alan (Amanda), Carla, Pieter (Chelsy) and Francesca; and, great- grandchildren Timothy, Samuel, Carter, Andrew and Ivy.
Bob was born to Jan and Heiltje Bregman on October 10, 1930 in Holland. Bob moved with his parents and siblings Henk (deceased), Ann and John, to Canada in 1949 settling in the Exeter area.
He married the love of his life, Agnes, in 1954. In 1960, Bob and Agnes moved to Culross township, six kilometers west of Teeswater, and started dairy farming. He was very active in the Teeswater community serving as Agriculture Society president on two occasions. A long-time member of the Bruce County Federation of Agriculture, Bob served 12 years as an area representative. As well, he was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Teeswater and sang in the choir for many years.
A public drive-past visitation will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Teeswater (7 James Street West), on Thursday September 24, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Please approach travelling north on Brownlee Street then east onto James Street.
The funeral service to honour Bob’s life will take place at Knox Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Owen Kim officiating. Due to provincial restrictions, please RSVP if you wish to attend the funeral service by calling the Tiffin Funeral Home (519-392-6011) and using the link found under the “service information” tab on the funeral home website. Mask are mandatory for all attendees at the funeral service.
Private family interment at Culross-Teeswater Cemetery.
