Obituary of Gerard Voisin
Gerard Jacob Voisin of Walkerton and formerly of Formosa, where he farmed for over 60 years, passed away peacefully at his residence, on Thursday, July 12th, 2018, in his 95th year.
Beloved husband of Dorothy Voisin (née Hoffele) for 65 years.
Dedicated father to his 12 children, Linda Schumacker, Clayton Voisin (Rita), Elaine Schumacher (Dave), Mervin Voisin (Marlene), Dennis Voisin (Valerie), Gary Voisin (Karen), Michael Voisin (Simone), George Voisin (Brenda), David Voisin (LeaAnne), Marlene Ribbink (Allan), Glenn Voisin (Rosemary) and Sandra Voisin.
Loving grandfather of 30 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Dear brother of Clarence Voisin (Marie), Edward Voisin (Maryanne) and Richard Voisin (Sheila).
Fondly remembered by brothers-in-law Clayt and Jim Hoffele and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, George and Tillie (née Meyer) Voisin, infant daughter Phillis, son-in-law Ken Schumacker, brothers Wilfred Voisin (Verena), sisters Marjorie Voisin, Mildred Wilson (Paul) and Lorraine Simpson (Jim).
Gerard was a member of the St. Joseph’s Aid Society for 73 years and Formosa Lions Club for 35 years.
Gerard’s family will receive friends and relatives at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Formosa Lions Club Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by the St. Joseph’s Aid Society and Vigil Prayers at 5:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Formosa on Monday, July 16th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Anderson and Father Gordon Kennedy con-celebrating.
Interment Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery, Formosa.
Reception to follow at the Formosa Community Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chesley Restorative Care Unit (South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Chesley), Formosa Lions Club or Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
