euolgy , thoughts from scheurwater family posted a condolence
Saturday, June 23, 2018
I am Josh, the youngest of the Scheurwater boys and mom has written down some thoughts that I would like to share with you on behalf of our family. Jeremy had given up on finding a girlfriend when one sunday at church this beautiful blonde sitting in the front turned around and Sheena always told us, she saw this tall, dark, handsome guy sitting near the back and they instantly wanted to get to know each other. The wedding was planned for Feb 14 2009 and when we heard we all said" who living up in this area would want a wedding in winter"? Well, Sheena wanted a Valentines day wedding. We hoped we wouldn't have to blow a path to the church with the tractor and ask guests to attend on snowmobiles, but it was a beautiful Valentines day and we hope all of you have taken time to enjoy the beautiful pictures of a "beautiful snowbride" that everyone called her. Sheena wanted skating after the reception, so guests were asked to bring skates. It was an amazing wedding. Sheena worked at a nursing home after they were married and then she & Jeremy were blessed with Brooklyn. She was an amazing wife and now such a loving mommy to Brooklyn. Two years later, Corbin arrived and Sheena's days were filled with loving and nurturing her children. Sheena had the most creative way of decorating. Her home was filled with the most unique beautiful things on the walls and she loved her glass cabinets to display her special things. Sheena loved to bike over to our farm, towing behind a bike trailer carrying the children and swimming with them during the summer and pulling them on a toboggan in the winter, making forts, snowmen and skating. Sheena loved each season as it came. When the chicken barn was built, she managed it with pride. She brought such joy to our family and always had the most creative, thoughtful ideas. On our 35th wedding anniversary, Sheena knew we would be away for awhile. We came home and found a heart on the floor with #1 on it. We saw there were cut out hearts everywhere and the game was to follow the numbers. So off we went, around the island, around the table towards the fridge. On the fridge was a heart with #34 on it, we opened the fridge door and inside was heart #35 on top of a container holding 2 homemade cupcakes decorated for us. Her smile lit up a room, her beautiful blue eyes shone with life, but in early January we started to see the light dimming, no fault of her own, none of this happening because she wanted it to, none of this happening because she could control it, and how we all loved, supported and helped in any way possible to make that light shine once again in her. We hurt for her and we hurt for Jeremy and the children, we hurt for our family and for the Booi family. Joanne, from a mother who's heart is breaking for her son, I can't imagine how broken you are over the loss of your daughter. Our families have travelled together through this journey together for months now, uplifting one another and being there for Jeremy and the children whenever needed. We all have become closer and this past Saturday and Sunday as so many of us gathered together at our place on both sides of the family it has made us realize that Jeremy and the children will be surrounded by a big family who will be there for them when they need us. Joyce Meyers once said, children need to know that they are loved not just by their parents, children need to know that they are loved by grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts & uncles, children simply need to know that they are loved and surrounded by family.Jeremy, mom and dad love you so very much, you have the love of your brothers and their wives. You are surrounded by Scheurwater's and Stewarts who came to be with your father and I when you needed time with your brothers to grieve privately. When Cliff came, you and he could grieve together and your dad and I needed our brothers and sisters and they surrounded us. Pastor Chris and Priscilla, words cannot express the love and support we all have felt from you . Jeremy, you have the love from Sheena's family, and how nice to have so many come on Sunday so all of us could just gather and be with you and your children. This journey we have been on the past months has brought us together with one main goal, to make sure you and Brooklyn & Corbin are surrounded always with encouragement. You are now the sole parent , but you are also amazing Jeremy and the last few days we have watched you and your children bond in a new and special way. On Friday night, I thought I would never stop crying, never smile again, never laugh again. All of us were so broken, yet these last couple of days, the children, without even knowing , were bringing healing to all of us with their laughter, with their presence. As they played with their cousins and watched Papa Booi jump off the side of the pool and swim with them, watched uncle Cliff going down the pool slide, we realized, the children will help us heal. Thank God for the blessing of children. Gerald & Joanne & family, what an honor to have had Sheena in our lives. She touched the lives of all who knew her. She will live on in the lives of her children. We will see a part of Sheena in their smiles, their laughs, and in the many things that they will do. You are loved Sheena, so very loved. Mom Scheurwater

Eulogy
Hello, thank you for being here to celebrate my sister's life.
Thank you for being here to support these two families.
Shortly after I first learned of my sisters death I began looking for something to rationalize the loss.
I found some comfort in a common theme from various sermons and messages.
They suggested that I ask myself if I only had Sheena in my life for so many years and knowing she would die at age 32, would I still want her in my life?
This goes for any relationship and time in knowing Sheena Scheurwater.
And of course the answer is an overwhelming yes.
This helped me focus on the enjoyable times I shared with her as at the time my memory was clouded with the loss.
On December 11 1985, I was two months over three years old. I was staying with my Aunt Jenny in Edmonton Alberta. Jenny came to me and told me we we're going to visit my mom.
Jenny had a long station wagon with a side ways seat in the back. I asked if I could sit in the back. Jenny opened the back door and helped me in. I remember the car ride through the streets of Edmonton and watching the line of street lights scroll by late that night.
I do not remember arriving at the location but I remember walking through the bright hallways and into a room where my mother held my first sister. A sister... boy I was surprised.
Over our childhood years to come and during many different ages Sheena and I screamed, yelled, pushed and pulled and fought our way around our home in Orangeville and then in Mount Forest.
I remember baiting every hook and taking off every fish for Sheena as that was my job as her big brother.
There was never a shortage of McDonald toys and treats that my father would bring home after his long trips. Sheena loved these gifts.
Sheena would try to keep up with Cliff and I as we ran around the family farm and we would yell at her.
The fighting seemed to stop when we had another baby sister. Sheena was so motherly and my father often said there were too many kids trying to be parents in our home.
Sheena was there when I put my car in the ditch in my 20s on the next concession over. As we waited for my father to arrive to pull us out in 15 degree weather on a sunny day where my ford tempo found the only patch of snow still left on the road in Wellington county... Sheena saw a Tim Hortons cup out side the window. It was a roll up to win and she won a muffin.
We laughed and shared many laughs.
Sheena and I tried a new church one day. Many of the young people thought that Sheena and I were married. I did not hesitate in telling the guys there that Sheena was single and Jeremy quickly took note.
Sheena was a caring person she made no hesitation in inviting us to every family related event in Ontario even though we were in BC. She joked with my wife if she could put a snowboard mountain here to bring me back she would. We received invitations for Christmas parties, birthday parties school events and more. Sheena was a super mom she would prep the kids with excitement before we would arrive as would we only visit once a year or so. The kids loved us so much and she wanted them to know her family.
Sheena loved and cared for her friends and family and those are the memories I will cherish most. I only had my first sister for 32 years but if told it was only to be this long I would still gladly accept.
Thank you for being here.

Sheena and I worked together at Royal Terrace. We attended their wedding ceremony in Harriston, and they took their wedding pictures out at our property. They were so much in love,,,so sweet and kind and good. Sheena was kind to everyone, the people she looked after, and everyone she met. Such a great loss for this world. So very, very sad for her husband and two children. We are still wondering why? You have our love, our sympathy and our prayers. God take care of you all.

A truly beautiful person inside and out, and will be so greatly missed. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
I'll always cherish the memories we made together, playing in the hayloft as young girls, or hikes to the back of her parents property and exploring the cabin that was there or lunch time trips to the small cafe in Mount Forest where we had our special spot "across the bridge" to sit, and so many others.
Even though we weren't close the last few years she's always someone I remembered (and will always remember) as an amazing person and even better friend.
