Obituary of John Schiestel

John Norman Schiestel of R. R. #3 Teeswater passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Sunday May 23, 2010 in his 83rd year. John was born March 9, 1928 in Culross Township and lived there all his life. Beloved husband of the former Mary Kuhayda, whom he married July 15, 1961. Dear father of Donald Schiestel of Culross Township, Ken Schiestel and his wife Dawn and John Schiestel and his wife Jane all of Teeswater. Grandfather to Owen, Ryan, Nolan, Jasmin and Keisha Schiestel. Brother of Kathleen Hamilton (Ken) of Listowel. Also survived by special sister-in-law Judy Miners and brothers and sisters-in- law Anne Hendry, Betty Frazer (George), Helen Lalonde (Ron), Terrie Hall, Andrew Kuhayda (Olivia) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant son Andrew, parents, John G. Schiestel and Appolonia (Detzler), brothers Frank, Clarence (Alice), Alfred (Amelia, Ruth, Kate), sisters Florence (Vince Henhoeffer), Georgina (Alex Schnurr) and Magdalena in infancy, sister-in-law Pauline Drouillard and brother-in-law Jim Hall. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
